In the context of the adoption, for the first time in history, of Global Sustainable Development Goals, the paper presents the areas of impact of changing sustainable development approaches on widely understandable systemic environmental design. It describes approaches to studying sustainable development problems in understanding the increase in resilience of geosystems and goal-setting in environmental management. It also shows the importance of humanization and consideration of sociocultural peculiarities of territories and settlements in system design in natural resource use.
